A Gift for a Friend

My first real piece with acrylics. I'm extremely happy with the sky and slightly less happy with each element going down. I will be giving this to a friend as a birthday gift. It is loosely based on a photo I took from Kelly Butte last month. Despite its flaws, I am overall quite proud of the piece. I won't lie and say I'm not. PS- Those little bars at the bottom are part of the easel. I actually have no idea what their purpose is yet.

I'm thinking about maybe narrating a pixel art project some time in the future. I'm a bit shy and a bit lazy, which means it'll be awhile before I set everything up, but I think it could be a fun sort of tutorial. I definitely have a lot to say on the subject. I figure it would be fun to get it all out in a video.

Oh man!!! That art is Bob-Ross worthy. I don't know HOW you or other incredible artists do this kinda stuff. My mind only works in L I N E A R and S T R A I G H T L I N E S. Those kind of organic shapes make sense to me but when I try to recreate them they look like trash. I don't know how shading works, and everything I draw looks flat. I make video games and stuff, and my code and music is ok, but sprites and graphics really limit me. Please teach me the way!!!
